MechStock Switch Films

These switch films are made in-house and are custom designed specifically for Cherry MX Switches. Unlike other switch films, MechStock Switch Films are very easy to install and will remain aligned when closing or opening the switch. Once you feel the difference, you’ll wish you found these sooner.

0.10mm films reduce housing wobble and produce a muted, more natural sounding switch compared to 0.125mm / 0.15mm films which are known for raising the pitch and sound. 

It is recommended to only use these films in Cherry MX Switches because the internal dimensions have not been optimised for other brands. This trade-off, however, is worthwhile as it allows Mechstock Switch Films to be extremely consistent and enjoyable to use in Cherry Switches.

What Makes MECHSTOCK FILMS Different?

Switch Films are thin pieces of material that go between the top and bottom housing of a switch and act as a shim or gasket to prevent wobbling or movement. Doing so helps subtly change the way it feels and sounds.

Most modern switches nowadays don't really benefit from switch filming and it was generally a practice for older switches with less refined tolerances, however, some people still enjoy modding so will film their switches regardless.
