Easy to Install

The internal cutout size has been consciously chosen to allow for easy installation onto Cherry MX switches. If the design is too tight or too loose then users will struggle to find a rhythm when installing switch films. 

These films are intentionally on the looser side so that films can be applied without hassle and in a single attempt. With that said, they are, however, still tight and have enough friction to stay in place and remain stable on the X & Y axis which is essential for ease of application and installation.

The switch films are, externally, slightly wider and will stay attached to the top housing when switches are re-opened. This is useful for keeping the initial alignment and prevents films from falling off accidentally.

When switch modding, there will be times when some switches will need to be opened several times to check parts or make small adjustments. The nature of switch films means that they often come loose and move slightly on the X, Y & Z axes whenever the top housing is removed. 

To address this issue, MECHSTOCK FILMS are designed to push against the top housing clips and stay relatively secure and in-place. As the films don’t move and remain predictable, switches can be closed without any difficulty.
