Fantastic Fourwraps Saving Your Day

Description

SSS Fourwrap V2 Stabilisers are designed in South Korea by the brand Morning Workshop. They are currently very popular in Asia due to their affordability and impressive stock performance with many users even omitting the use of grease and lube.

Fourwraps are and extremely easy to tune and get perfect due to the tight tolerance and a unique bi-directional stem. Inside, there are four plastic membranes which act as guides for the wire and reduces ticking and minimises wire balancing requirements.

These stabilisers also have the unique ability to be installed into the PCB as Clip-in or Screw-in depending on user preference. Trimming is required to use the provided screws which are low-profile and allow these stabilisers to work successfully in O-ring mounted Keyboards.

How To Install SSS Fourwraps With Screws

The image below briefly shows the process to convert these stabiliser from Clip-in to Screw-in.

Use the middle stabiliser as reference when trimming and cutting off the clips. Try to get the cut as straight as possible but realistically it shouldn't matter as long as they're evenly sized and don't stick past the PCB.

Doing this ultimately makes them more secure in the PCB and will reduce the chance of them accidently detaching when removing stabilised keycaps.

If you would like to try the "Double Screw-in" option, the front clip will need to be cut similarly, although, there is debatable benefit in doing so.

What Does SSS Fourwrap Mean?
According to the designer, SSS stands for the three possible mounting methods: Snap-in, Screw-in and Double Screw-in.
The stabilisers are called Fourwrap because there are four thin, plastic membranes inside each insert which "wraps" around the wire to eliminate unwanted noise and improve consistency. Clip in Stabiliser Screw In Stabilizer SSS Fourwrap V2

Disclaimer

Stabilisers stoppers are not compatible.

A very light amount of grease is recommended for the best sounding Fourwrap stabilisers. This is due to the nature of plastic on plastic contact and some lube will help with dampening vibrations and noise.

These stabilisers are intended for 1.6mm PCBs - the standard thickness of a keyboard PCB - but can be used with1.2mm PCBs when modified. While the Clip-in function isn't compatible, the Screw-in and Double Screw-in method supports 1.2mm PCBs.

These stabilisers are made in China, NOT South Korea. Other vendor listings are incorrect and not accurate. This is the direct quote when I emailed Mr Kim "The stabilizers and films are produced in China. We manufacture the other products ourselves."
